Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot dismissed State Minister Rajendra Gudha on Friday, confirmed by the Raj Bhavan after the governor accepted Gehlot's recommendation for immediate removal.
The decision came shortly after Gudha criticized the Gehlot-led state government, admitting to the failure in ensuring women's safety in Rajasthan and calling for self-reflection instead of blaming Manipur for rising atrocities against women.
This is what the minister has to say
Gudha held the portfolio of Minister of State for Sainik Kalyan (Independent Charge), Home Guard and Civil Defence, Panchayati Raj, and Rural Development.
On Wednesday, the Jodhpur Police discovered four charred bodies in a hut at Cherai village, Ramnagar gram panchayat of Jodhpur.
The BJP strongly demanded CM Gehlot's resignation, holding the Congress government accountable for the tragic recovery of the charred bodies. BJP leader CP Joshi denounced the incident as shameful and called for moral responsibility from the chief minister, particularly as it occurred in his home district.
The BJP also criticized the Congress government for failing to protect women in the state during the ongoing election campaign.
The BJP further claimed that Rajasthan, under Congress rule, had become a ""completely failed state"" with a staggering 17-18 rape cases being registered daily. They questioned Rahul Gandhi's silence and absence in addressing the deteriorating law and order situation.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat highlighted alleged atrocities against Dalits and criticized Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge for not taking notice of these cases. Shekhawat presented alarming statistics, stating that Rajasthan ranked first in crimes against women, children, and Dalits, with daily incidents of rape and murder.
Amidst these developments, the BJP faced criticism from opposition parties regarding the situation in Manipur, where a video emerged showing the disturbing parading of naked women from one community by men from the other.
Rather than criticizing each other, these politicians should collectively work to stop such heinous crimes going on against women, which are happening in the state. Should the minister be sacked for questioning the government's failure? Aren't these heinous crimes happening incessantly against the women of our country? are the failure of the government, again coming back to rajasthan cm, rajasthani cm Gehlot sacking his own minister, why, because he asked a question on women safety in his own state
